When you apply a formula that you have edited, the formula produces results based on settings chosen in the Optimization tab. If you are building a scientific or business formula and choose the goal to Maximize number within Tolerance, the tolerance value is computed based on the value you entered in the edit box. If you are building a trading strategy, the results are computed based on your settings for threshold range or buy/sell true/false, as well as the number of shares traded and commissions. The settings for smooth equity curve, trading positions, and Time Flag series will also affect any formula that you change.
